Legal Advice Direct
How Does The Website Work?
This website puts you into contact with a Barrister under the Public Access Scheme specialising in the areas of law mentioned on this site by you taking these simple steps:
Complete enquiry form: If you require legal advice or representation, please complete and send the enquiry form. The form will be read by a Barrister and used to assess whether any assistance can be offered.
Telephone conversation: You will be emailed or telephoned usually within 48 hours by either the Barrister (or his clerk) who will discuss your problem. You will be asked a number of questions to obtain a better understanding of the problem.
Letter of instruction: If the Barrister is able to assist, a free no obligation quotation for a conference to discuss your problem will be provided and, if accepted, you will be asked to formally instruct the Barrister in Chambers. This simply means writing an email or letter to say you want the Barrister to act for you.
Client care letter/fees: You will be sent a client care letter either by email or post which outlines the terms and conditions that will apply to the Barrister meeting you and which you must sign. You will be asked to pay any fees in advance of the conference.
Documentation: You may be asked to send documentation in advance of any conference so that the Barrister will be better prepared to assist you.
Conference: You will attend a conference with the Barrister.
Urgent matters: Depending on the availability of the Barrister, the process can be speeded up to a matter of hours if you have an urgent matter that requires immediate attention or if you need to obtain an injunction.
If the Barrister is unable to assist he may be able to recommend an alternative Public Access Barrister or, if appropriate, a solicitor.
